The reason I chose this unit is that it was the most difficult for me to grasp. In this unit, I had to stay extra time in math class to understand. I'm very grateful to my teacher Ms.Provance with understand my trouble and being very patient with me. Even though she helped me I also took help from my old algebra teacher Ms. Marsh; she used to be a calculus teacher and she really helped me understand the matiral. She sat down with me and really opened my eyes and showed me what I was doing wrong. In this, I want to say that I really used the skills of thinking and problem-solving. The definition of it is "Students will demonstrate thinking and problem-solving in all curricular areas through projects, application of the scientific method, higher order math skills, and literary analysis." This is a math class so it's pretty obvious that I did use this skill. I had to learn a unit from 2 teachers and with some extra time. The thing I'm really proud of is the score I got on my unit quiz. I earned a 17 out of 20, which is a B. I was really surprised by this outcome mostly because I doubted myself a lot. A way that I improved on my 21st centry skill is, this was one of the units which I actually studied on. In all the other units I understud the material and was able to memorize the formulas. On this unit, I asked for extra work so I can work more to understand the unit test. If I was able to redo something it would be to go to Ms.Marsh earlier. She helped me one-on-one and the reason I think she helped me understand more was because she already knew me and how i learn. After I went to her class I was able to gain more confidence to do more advanced equations. A way I can apply this experience to future learning would be to not be afraid to ask for help and that it's better to know how to do something than be to scared to ask and fail. I will take this and apply it to my future school and work paths. I think it is a good habit to ask questions and this reason proves it.
