We do Digital Journals every Wednesday. DJ's is a way that allows students to do some independent reaserch about a topic chosen by our teacher. I really enjoy DJ's, we have the freedom to create how we want to answer our prompt and we can be as creative as we want. To every journal there are requirments. Date, Prompt, Image, and answer. For an exsample, I'll chose the prompt my class did last week. Coach Cassi chose for us to do an artical named "Meet The Bears." It was an artica that tracks bears and explanes thier biography. Our prompt was to write about one bear and explain/discribe how they get enough food to hibernate. I chose a bear named Holly, shes a successful mother of 2 (maybe be expecting more soon). Weighing 435, and won "Fat Bear Week" in 2019. Some thing that might be lacking in my DJ's is creativity. I often catch myself looking at the person next to me for an idea of how to organize the answer/picture. I fell like it would reflect my personality if i did it myself and add what i want to add where i want to add. Something that I find challenging is the amout of time that were given to complete our digital jounals. Were given 20 minutes to read, answer, and orginize our sldies. If were assigned a artical that was very intressting i would want to read all of it and write aton about it. You could say, Why dont you just read it at home? Its not very interesting anymore and i rather do other things. A skill that i demonstrated in these assignments is Informational skills. This means "Students will apply relevant computer and handheld technology across the curriculum, and they will integrate new technologies. Students will also read and understand a wide range of literary and informational text for a variety of purposes, and they will apply a variety of appropriate research methods across the curriculum." For our DJ's were expected to read articles, data sheets, maps, temperature in environments, the incline/increase of biotic or abiotic facters within a certain environment/ecosystem. Were also expected to answer any questions that the teacher may give us thats relevent to the data.
