For this assignment, we had to complete an essay in a set amount of time using data and charts to support our claim. The prompt that we had to answer was “To what extent has the modern revolution been a positive or negative force?” The day before we had to review charts with a variety of different data. Some examples were Life expectancy of humans, different inventions that was crafted, the carbon that affected are earth, and different type of illnesses and how it affected us.
One thing that was challenging for me was to write somthing I was proud of in the set amount of time. The reason we only had one period to do it is because of the progression of technology. Its very easy for the students of this generation to cheat/use technology to their advantage and use an app or a site to write something for this prompt. With the 50 minutes I had to look over all the data, make a claim for out mulit paragrah essay, and support our claim well. After the 50 minutes was over I felt like I was able to able to get my point across. I was able to pass this assignment with a B-. Something that i couldve done better was to look at the data more closely and intertwine them more smother. If i were able to do that it wouldve made it easier to read and wouldve gotten me a better grade. A skill that I have practiced while writing this would be Gloabal Awearness. The description of this skill is “Students will demonstrate an understanding of the thinking, motivations, and actions of different cultures and countries in order to successfully navigate and respond to communities and workplaces extending beyond their neighborhoods.” I fell like ive greatly displayed this because I had to not only know the history but the different regions around the same time period. With this i has to explain why they were the same/conneted with eachother.
